Building with Integrity in Boone & the High Country
Trust isn’t a slogan; it’s our foundation. However, for a foundation to be effective it needs to run deep to solid soil. Our foundations were developed from 14 years of building in Colorado followed by a pivot to rural Nigeria, where we spent the next 3 years working with the local community to rebuild an old mission hospital. We worked alongside local craftsmen and healthcare professionals, addressing not just the physical structure but also the community’s broader needs. What started as a single project ultimately grew into a 10 year long humanitarian career serving in many countries around the globe. This experience taught us invaluable lessons about resilience, collaboration, service and God’s grace.
Upon returning to the U.S., we landed in Boone, NC, where we made another pivot in our professional lives. Inspired by our humanitarian work and the insights gained from our personal experience, we wanted to start a company that would integrate these developed values through new construction projects, home renovation and commercial building. The aim was clear: to build, improve, and restore—not just structures, but the relationships and trust of those with whom we work. Thus, Pivot Construction was born.
You’ll get honest budgeting, attention to your project and craftsmanship that stands up to High Country weather. We build long-term relationships so you always know who to call for the next project.

Our Process
Discovery
The initial meeting with the homeowner. Tell us about your project including your goals, wish list and budget. We will provide you with feedback and a ballpark budget to see if your vision is aligned with your budget. No cost.
Design/Budgeting
Bring your own design/plan or work with our design and engineering partners to define your ideas and vision. We will provide a detailed estimate by putting your project out to bid with our trade partners. Site visits and homeowner meetings occur to discuss high level design and modification. While planning for a remodel or addition, it may be necessary to perform site work such as demolition or excavation to determine what is achievable. You are not committed to build at this time. Rather, we have an agreement for design, budgeting and ad-hoc support that is billed hourly.

FAQs
How soon can you start my project in Boone or Blowing Rock?
Start dates depend on design readiness, permits, trade partner availability and material lead times. We’ll map out a realistic schedule at proposal and keep you updated as orders and approvals land. If we are too busy for your project, we will let you know up front
Do you work with my architect or handle design in-house?
Both. We partner well with outside architects and designers, and we also offer design-assist for kitchens, bathrooms, additions, floor plans and outdoor living to streamline decisions.
What budgets do you typically handle for remodels and additions?
Projects vary, but our approach stays the same: define scope, align on allowances, and protect value with informed choices. You’ll see where every dollar goes before we start. If your project is not a good fit, we will tell you at the start so that you do not waste time.
Can you help with commercial upfits for offices or retail space?
Yes. We manage light commercial construction up to 3 stories, code coordination, inspections, and landlord requirements so your office, clinic, or retail space opens as planned.
How do you ensure quality during construction?
Trade-specific checklists, superintendent oversight, interior designer coordination and milestone inspections are built into our process. We document progress and verify details before moving to the next phase.
